Schwarzenbek
Dynamic development
|
The town of Schwarzenbek in the south of the Duchy of Lauenburg County has for
decades stood for dynamic development. Around 15,000 people live here, where in
only a few years a traffic junction has grown into an economic centre. Today the sub
centre has had the municipal law for over a half century. The city was forward-looking
even in the 50`s and campaigned for European integration. As a result of that the Council
of Europe awarded Schwarzenbek with the honour "City of Europe" - as the second city in Germany.
Schwarzenbek owes its attractive rural location especially to the "Sachsenwald", the largest enclosed
high forest in Northern Germany. |
 |
 |
7,000 hectares of nature to breathe deeply in, relax and
be active; with ancient oaks, beech and conifers and a considerable deer population. In the
south by Schwarzenbek is the 1.000 hectare large "Rülauer Forest". In the town the concept
is living close to nature.: In the residential park of "Sachsenwald" 140 plots of land offer
new homes in the countryside.
