Testimonials Worlée-Chemicals Company Ltd.: Environmental Solutions The artificial resin factory of the Worlée-Chemicals Company Ltd. in Lauenburg is way ahead of its time. The company - founded in 1851 in Hamburg as one of the oldest chemical firms in the world - produces and distributes around 50,000 tons of raw materials a year for the colour and paint industry. Here eco-friendliness plays an important role. So Worlée-Resins, in respect of water-based lacquer, already meet the strict guidelines for air quality monitoring which will not become operational until 2010.
The artificial resin factory has been honoured with environmental awards several times. So the results of research and production at Worlée have helped to save millions of litres of solvent which would otherwise have damaged the ozone layer. Since 1976 Worlée has researched, developed and produced in Lauenburg. In 1994 the factory expanded and its capacity doubled. Since 1984 there has been a branch in Lübeck which fabricates polymer solvents for eco-friendly printing colour and care products for floors. Worlée continues to invest in new manufacturing plants to offer its customers forward-looking products.
The artificial resin factories with their 220 employees are concentrating very successfully on high-tech niche products: Apart from the main focus "water based colours and lacquers for decorative paint" nanotechnology is becoming more and more important for functional coatings.
